Blue Tongue Pantry is a vibrant Thorneside cafe nestled overlooking Beth Boyd Park with breathtaking views across Moreton Bay. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 4pm, we take pride in serving delectable brunch, lunch, a delightful sweet selection, and of course, exceptional coffee. Our commitment lies in crafting fresh, seasonal dishes spotlighting locally sourced ingredients while delivering unparalleled service to our cherished local community.
The Canteen operates within the Capalaba Football Club, serving players, their families, and friends during game days and training sessions. Open typically on Tuesdays, Thursdays (afternoon to night), and all day Saturdays and Sundays, the Canteen offers a spot to relish in food and drinks amidst the excitement of the sport.
About You
We're looking for a Chef / Cook with a flexible schedule, adept at seamlessly transitioning between weekday and weekend shifts. Your passion for cooking combined with your availability makes you the perfect fit to deliver exceptional culinary experiences at both Blue Tongue Pantry and the Canteen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook delectable dishes in adherence to established recipes and standards at both Blue Tongue Pantry and the Canteen.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during peak hours.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are rigorously maintained across all kitchen operations.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering, to uphold freshness and minimize waste.
- Uphold the reputation of both establishments by delivering consistently high-quality dishes and service.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation standards and regulations.
Skills and Attributes
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends, to accommodate the operating hours of both venues.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
- Passion for creating culinary delights using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential
