The City of Marion Library Service provides an expertly curated collection and events that fosters a love of reading, stimulates curiosity, inspires creativity, supports lifelong learning, and strives to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community through our three libraries.
Our libraries include the Cultural Centre Library in Oaklands Park, Cove Civic Centre in Hallet Cove, and our Park Holme Library.
We now have multiple vacancies for Casual Customer Service officers.
Our Customer Service Officers- Libraries contribute to the efficient delivery of Library Services by helping our customers to use our facilities, spaces, and resources. In one of these positions, you will be a part of a Customer Service Team that actively promotes our services with the primary focus of our roles to provide excellent customer experience.
Some of the requirements of this position include but are not limited to the following.
- Provide all aspects of library customer experience including working with the customer to access our collections, programs, and resources.
- Actively promote Lifelong Learning through activities/programs/services to the community.
- Assist customers with computer facilities including IT troubleshooting, scanning, and printing.
- Provide assistance with accessing information through apps, our website, databases and e-book platforms.
Exceptional Customer Service combined with good computer skills are important pre-requisites to being successful in this position. You will also need to have the demonstratable ability to work well within a diverse team. Those with Reader Advisory skills who are advocates for literacy and its’ importance in the community will be well regarded.
To be considered for one of these positions a current driver’s license is highly desirable and pre-employment medicals, criminal checks and DHS screening will be required. You will also have to have the ability to work over a 7-day roster with shifts that may include weekend and evening work.
