About this role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised individual to join our Product Merchandising team as a Category Merchandising Assistant. You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for creating assortment strategies based on analysing sales and trends. You will help to develop business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximise the development of the brand, sales, and profits for a specified area of the business.
What you'll do
- Assist in managing and growing a department or area of the business through fact-based analysis
- Perform market analysis, competitive analysis, and deep dive into sales trends to develop business strategies outlining strengths, weaknesses, new opportunities and threats
- Assist to communicate annual and seasonal strategies to all cross-functional partners
- Analyse the business on a weekly/monthly/seasonal basis and continually strategize and take action to increase customer satisfaction and deliver sales results
- Obtain feedback from stores to improve product and add to collections
- Recommend and collaborate with Visual Merchandising to plan floor layouts, marketing materials
- Proof website for copy and sku information integrity and accuracy
- Assist Inventory Management with determining appropriate adjustments (markdowns, delivery charges and quantity changes) to the plan to maximise sales, profits, budget (OTB) and to protect the brand
Who you are
- BA/BS required
- 2+ years in Merchandising
- Advanced retail math skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills; required to create pivot tables, advanced formulas, and functions such as VLOOKUPS
- Loves to work collaboratively in a group, you have an innate willingness to dig in and contribute to your team.
- Ability to be organise, structure in communication and prioritise competing agendas
- Capable of seeing the big picture combined with a sense for details
