Catering Manager

About the Role
This role provides the opportunity to lead the Catering Department across our hospital.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Mentoring, inspiring and developing the team
- Driving staff productivity and engagement, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
- Production, supervision and delivery of a high volume nutritious patient meals
- Ensure consistent food production based on hospital occupancy and menu standards
- Catering for internal functions
- Direction and leadership of all catering staff
- Maintain quality control, kitchen hygiene, WH&S and HACCP principles
- Responsible for financial and operational performance of catering services
- Purchasing and stock control
The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader with well-rounded kitchen competencies, who thrives in managing and leading their staff by example to be the best that they can be.
About You
- Chef trade qualifications with experience in a high-volume catering environment
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
- Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of HACCP Principles and the proven ability to manage the food safety program
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude, coupled with a customer-centric mindset to contribute to a harmonious work environment
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities to inspire, motivate and manage a large team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Experience with end of month financial reporting
- Preference for Hospitality background and previous supervisory experience, eg rostering, ordering, menu planning, line management and WH&S.
