About the roleIn this role, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Kardinia Aquaitic Centre, Geelongs premier outdoor pool venue. You will support all areas of the venue, including reception, sales, customer service and aquatic operational activities. You will work across a varity of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, with restricted hours over the winter period.

Classification: Band 5 $76,355 - $86,617 (pa plus super)
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, coordination and evaluation of Reception, Sales, Customer Service, and aquatic program activities undertaken by the department.
- Assist in employee development and performance.
- Delivery of plant and operational activities undertaken by Leisure and Recreation Services.
- Assist in overseeing the Centre as a whole and take responsibility for day to day operations of the Centre in consultation with the Leisurelink Centre Manager.
- Ensure that user groups, patrons, contractors and employees are provided with safe and healthy working environments and take immediate corrective action to remedy unsatisfactory or unsafe working conditions wherever possible.
- Facilitate effective maintenance and presentation of the Kardinia Aquatic Centre including all plant, pools, buildings, car parking and grounds facilities.
About youThe ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience running or overseeing an Aquatic facility, with experience leading a team. You will have good knowledge of pool plant operations, be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people, enjoy troubleshooting and finding practical solutions to complex issues, with high levels of resilience and attention to detail.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation of innovative procedures.
- Demonstrated experience with Aquatic Programs or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate pool plant and machinery.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Pool Lifeguard Award and current Working with Children’s Check.
- Tertiary qualification relevant to recreation program management or several years’ experience in a related field.
