Applications are sought for the position of a Centre Support role based at our Maroochydore office and will require occasional travel within the service area of Laurel Place Inc.
The position provides reception support to clients, and essential support to Management and staff of Laurel Place Inc. who are engaged in providing services to people who have experienced sexual assault and their non–offending parents/carers and support persons. The position is required to support the local team as well as the wider organisation in a range of direct and indirect activities associated with providing this service.
This role is the face of our service, welcoming clients and managing phone enquiries. Serving as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking assistance and guidance, it is essential that the successful candidate provides a warm, welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide reception tasks: the ability to provide both face to face and phone reception duties in an empathetic and professional manner.
- Undertake general administrative duties including a range of computer tasks: word processing; data management; graphs and graphics; spread sheets; internet and email; manage Outlook calendars; production of promotional materials and assist Business officers as required.
- Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines: Mail handling and recording; filing; photocopying; purchase of stationery and office supplies; Monitor petty cash expenditure; maintaining service systems; answering phones, taking messages, correspondence; maintaining resource indexes and referral sources and take minutes of meetings.
- Ability in managing critically sensitive information on a strictly confidential basis. Create client files, record relevant client information on data base and collect client data for statistical purposes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced supportive team environment including assisting in the occasional transporting of clients from designated location and assisting in the organisation of special functions and or activities related to the service when required (e.g. AGM, Board meetings and staff meetings)
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Perform Other duties required by Management
All Service Staff Duties:
- Ensure client confidentiality.
- Work with other staff and the Board of Management towards the objectives in the mission and vision statement.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Work with other agencies regarding referral processes and client related services to ensure continuity of care and quality service provision.
- Participate in annual and other planning sessions to develop a strategic response to sexual violence.
- Support a culture of transparency and accountability within the service.
- Perform any other tasks at the request of the manager.

Organisational Environment:
Laurel place is governed by a Board drawn from the local community. The service employs over 40 staff across different programs and four locations in Maroochydore, Gympie, Murgon as well as Moreton Bay. The service provides a range of options to women, men, children, young people, families and the community that work towards reducing the impact and incidence of sexual violence in the Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Murgon, and Moreton Bay Regions.
Additional Factors:
- Current Queensland open driver’s licence
- A current Blue Card
- Experience in administration within a community organisation desirable
- Xero accounting package desirable
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake first aid training if required
