The Strategy and Performance Business Unit is responsible for providing high-level strategic planning, change management, leadership and direction for the City, supporting achievement of a more sustainable organisation and community. We enable performance outcomes for the City as well as a coordinated approach to change management, corporate planning and performance to deliver long term financial sustainability.

About the Position

We are seeking applications from experienced Change Advisors who thrive in a transformational environment and have the capability and skills to steer a portfolio of change technology projects. Reporting to the Change Lead of Strategy and Performance, this role will assist with the establishment and execution of organisational change management practices across technology projects. These change programs are delivering a range of initiatives representing a leap forward in our innovation and technology-driven strategy to enable timely decision making, effective and efficient delivery of our services.

A hands-on role, the successful candidate will partner with the ICT Project Management Office and various Project Managers to deliver end to end change solutions and  ensure stakeholders are prepared to receive the change and understand the benefits associated. You have excellent communication skills and are able to drive clear and succinct messages including the translation of highly technical concepts into simple language that appeals to end users.

The role will further focus on coordinating the entire suite of change activities in line with the City’s Change Management Framework and Approach.

You will champion best practices in Agile and Lean change approaches, have a passion for innovation and a commitment to implement strategic change initiatives that deliver measurable technology and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Change Advisor will include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development and delivery of all aspects of the change management strategy (including communication plan, change management plan, learning and adoption schedules, stakeholder management plan) to implement technology projects.
  • Fosters collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure maximum adoption rates.
  • Participates in business readiness planning to ensure the City of Stirling employees and customers are prepared for the change.
  • Identifies opportunities, risks and mitigation strategies involved in the
  • Supports the development and facilitation of learning and adoption including development of training plans and materials.
  • Leads the continuous adoption of the change initiative and facilitates the successful delivery of technology projects that meet business needs
  • Provides regular and meaningful reports to the Change Lead and senior leaders on the delivery of change management plans within technology projects.
  • Solicits feedback from stakeholders to determine the success of change management activities and ensure that behavioural changes align with strategic objectives.
  • Leverages internal tools to develop engaging communication materials aligned to stakeholder communication and engagement requirements.
  • Leverages support structures such as Change Champions, HR, IT, Strategy and Performance and Marketing to cross-collaborate.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant work experience that could be equated to tertiary qualifications
  • Prosci, Lean and/or Agile Change qualifications.
  • Experience with the use and application of change management tools
  • Significant previous experience leading technology projects with previous application of change management tools and lean/agile change methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience carrying out change management on an ERP implementation
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organisation applying strong emotional intelligence.
  • An active listener with the ability to analyse information and propose a strategic change direction.

This temporary full-time position is a Level 8 Inside Workforce Agreement position, which attracts a salary as of 1 July, from $106,999 to $112,630 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability to obtain a:

  • A copy of Australian driving licence
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
  • Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
  • The right to work in Australia
