Do work that matters
We’re recruiting for a Change Communications Manager to lead communications and engagement initiatives across the Engineering Practice – a horizontal community of over 7,000 Engineers across the Group. Your role is to oversee the internal communications strategy, manage an effective mix of communication channels for engineers, lead strategy communications, and support the cultural change required to build a world-class engineering practice.
You will play a pivotal role in improving the way Group Engineering communicates as a team, with engineers and other stakeholders across the bank. These three tiers of communication will be outlined in a holistic internal communications strategy that you will contribute to and be responsible for executing.
Your key areas of responsibility include:

• Strategy communications: Bringing our objectives and key results (OKRs) to life through regular and inspiring communications, in line with the Group Engineering three-year plan. You will work with highly skilled and uniquely talented technical teams that rely on your expertise to translate the work they do into a clear vision that will engage our team and engineers
• Managing and contributing to an effective mix of communication channels to break down silos, create feedback loops and ensure information is easily accessible. This includes working proactively with engineers and the Group Engineering team to uncover news and updates that can be shared across the Group. You will need to showcase the human face of engineering through creative communication channels, and translate complex information into content that’s easily consumed by a variety of stakeholders
• Supporting key stakeholders with their communication needs. This includes providing best practice communications advice to Group Engineering teams – in particular the CIO for Technology and Group Practice Leads. You will support and manage their communication plans, as well as the Group Engineering activity calendar, featuring key communications and engagement activities throughout the year
• Coordinating events and engagement activities aimed at fostering an engaged engineering workforce, including our annual Symposium, monthly lunch and learns, unconferences, and town halls

Your experience and qualifications:

• Experience leading internal strategy communications and supporting senior stakeholders with their communication plans
• Ability to connect meaningfully with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, technical and non‐technical
• Experience producing a wide range of communication materials across a variety of channels, including SharePoint, Confluence, MS Teams, Yammer
• Proven experience using Office 365 collaboration tools, including MS Forms, SharePoint Online, Yammer, Teams
• Technical knowledge or experience working with technical teams is an advantage
• Experience using Jira and Confluence is an advantage
• Ability to work across teams and influence great outcomes, solve problems and operate at times with ambiguity
• Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and expectations and juggle multiple priorities without sacrificing team alignment, engagement, productivity and velocity.
