Role Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Change Manager 

• Location: Sydney, Australia 

• Duration: 12 months 

• Joining: Immediate 

• Hybrid working with 3 days from office 

This is a senior role within customer’s Wholesale Commercial Operations & Experience, Service Operations Team to deliver a range of customers, business improvement and online development projects. The Change Manager will be responsible for Business Change Management & Governance across strategic projects to achieve the desired outcome. The Change Manager will be required to manage change for the nominated remediation/strategic projects across customer’s Wholesale to successfully align and govern to business and customer outcomes. 

This is a customer facing role with the engagement and readiness of the Service providers, customer’s Internal teams, Vendors and third parties, part of the critical success factors of the role. The role will engage the appropriate skills across customer’s Wholesale to successfully deliver the project. Also includes regularly report the status of key performance indicators for the projects and mitigate/escalate any issues as appropriate. 

The role has two major component – 

a) Lead for Change Management: 

 • Change Management – Leadership of the delivery of nominated customer’s Wholesale Projects including migration planning and execution 

 • Manage IT, Business and 3rd Party for demand scalability, business outcomes and execution 

 • Resource Management – Project staff, third parties and infrastructure assigned to the current projects. Act as a first point of escalation 

 • Support Associate Director, Strategic Programs & Continual Improvement to establish strong Change Management disciplines across nominated Projects 

• Balancing business, customer and technical outcomes, this role will be the custodian for 

b) The Change Governance part of the role will be responsible for: 

• Run Business Change Governance, as per established parameters 

• Establish, Own and Run Business Change Risk Register 

The role will interact with senior management within customer’s Wholesale and its Customer environment as well as dealing with key senior designers with IT, Networks and other internal teams. The person would ensure both business and technical delivery and will be required to drive resolution of all issues which constrains our Wholesale partners ability to grow. This role would manage all changes be it major or minor via a number of delivery channels. Accountability for this role is to be able to work up front with the Customer on the business requirements and then manage the internal technical teams i.e. IT and Networks to deliver against those requirements 

Another critical responsibility is to ensure the overall customer experience is a positive one so that future contract extension is positively viewed. 

The Change Manager will also take lead in driving process improvement initiatives to improve existing and/or new processes within the Commercial Operations team. 

The Change Manager will be also responsible and be able to govern/manage a full suite of project types ranging from Mobile, Fixed and Transformation projects and programs 

Change Program & Management disciplines will apply across the portfolio in a consistent manner, including: 

Project Change Management – Managing the processes, lifecycle and relationships between phases associated with large Projects involving many sub-projects each of which are managed by project managers. Lead the migration/cutover calls with customer internal teams and/or Customer’s Wholesale customers 

 Scope Management – Managing scope in the context of the Change lifecycle and the need for clear definition in the startup phase. Clearly define activities and scope change controls. 

 Time Management – Manage time within the broader Change management framework and apply the appropriate tools, e.g., MS-Project, and techniques. Coach team to use schedule identification, communication, monitoring, and reporting processes. 

 Cost Management – Manage costs in the context of the Change lifecycle and manage the project process against the project business case. 

 Quality Management – Apply quality management in the context of the change lifecycle in accordance with the quality certified Business Management System. 

 Human Resource Management – Clearly understand and identify the specific skills and competencies required for each phase of the Project and address these with an appropriate mix of Internal and external resources and any required resource development. 

 Communications Management – Clearly and concisely communicate the various elements of the Project and provide accurate details to Senior Leadership Team, Users and Customers. Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders. Chair Steering Committee meetings attended by Managing Director or General Manager and implement other meeting forums as appropriate to the Project. 

 Risk and Issue Management – Apply the principles of risk and issue management to the broader transition management life cycle. 

Procurement Management – Manage effective procurement for the Project via appropriate processes and Vendors. People Management – Provide day-to-day leadership to the Change resources, operating in a matrix organization. 

 Change Management Methodology – Clearly understand the need for and apply methodologies and provide leadership and direction in establishing and continuously improving project methodologies and processes.
