Job Opportunity: Full-Time Qualified Chef & Cook

Company: NARGIS Food Pty Ltd

Locations: Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, and Newcastle zones, Australia

Working Hours: 38 hours/week

Salary:   For Chef: $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience

               For Cook: $70,000 - $75,000

Nargis Food Pty Ltd is seeking qualified Chef & Cook to join our team across multiple locations. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional culinary experiences and are looking for passionate individuals to contribute to our success.

Requirements:

·        Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or higher

·        At least 3 years of experience as a cook  

·        1 year experience as a chef in a fast-paced environment

·        A passion for cooking

·        Ability to organize production schedules

·        Knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures

·        Reliable form of transportation

·        Ability to work well under pressure

·        Strong leadership skills and a team player

Responsibilities:

·        Prepare various food items according to the menu

·        Prepare daily production lists

·        Plan menus and estimate food costs

·        Order food supplies and check stock for suitability

·        Guide and direct other kitchen staff

·        Ensure all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet business specifications and quality standards

·        Maintain stocked stations before and during working hours

·        Verify that staff follow recipes and portion servings correctly

·        Ensure proper sanitization of workstations, storage areas, and the entire kitchen

·        Place food and supply orders as directed

·        Train kitchen and junior staff

·        Organize kitchen meetings to discuss issues and provide solutions

·        Manage staff levels in the kitchen area
