Experience Gold Coast
On 1 September 2023, HOTA has joined Experience Gold Coast, a super entity which combined HOTA, Study Gold Coast, Destination Gold Coast, Placemakers* and Major Events Gold Coast in an exciting new chapter that will see the city’s tourism, events, education, arts and culture portfolios working as one organisation focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for the city.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our award-winning Culinary Arts team. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will take pride in providing the highest quality customer service to the patrons of HOTA and ensure the successful management and operations of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver budgeted sales, food cost and wage cost, time management and effective use of resources.
- Exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management.
- Exceptional services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Train, develop and motivate kitchen staff to meet and exceed established food preparation standards on a consistent basis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence kitchen staff.
- Teaches and develops preparation according to well defined recipes and constantly improving the cuisine within the business.
- Delegation as appropriate to develop supervisor and team members to meet defined goals and objectives.
- Minimise food waste with a zero-waste attitude via good menu planning, excellent stock management and food stock take.
- Ensuring that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
- Ensuring that all Workplace Health and Safety, food handling, food safety and sanitation standards are adhered to.
