About Hyatt Hotel Canberra - A Park Hyatt Hotel
Hyatt Hotel Canberra is Canberra's first hotel located in the heart of the capital. Our Heritage listed hotel interweaves the hidden mystique of the 1920s with modern Art Deco designs. With 252 rooms and suites, our hotel offers an escape within a heritage-inspired setting. The traditional furniture styles as well as garden and park views are all enhanced with sleek technology.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and talented chef who strives in exceeding guests expectations and wants to join a team that priorities diversity, inclusion in a professional and fun working environment
As a Chef de Cuisine you will be responsible for managing the assigned kitchen as a successful independent profit centre, in line with the outlet's operating concept and Hyatt International standards. This will be achieved through preparing consistent, high quality, classic dishes featuring a contemporary twist, using fresh and local produce coupled with courteous, professional and flexible service.
Some of the responsibilities include
- Consistently review, analyse and develop menus to ensure greater customer satisfaction and profitability, whilst delivering positively memorable dining experiences
- Maintain international culinary standards, through training and coaching colleagues accordingly
- Maximise associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet financial goals and guest expectations
- To maintain the assigned kitchen in a clean and orderly manner at all times
- Enjoy engaging with customers to meet and exceed their culinary expectations, including creating special menus, suggesting alternative options
- Work closely with Purchasing Manager in procurement of the best product for the best price
- Assist in recruitment and selection of culinary associates
