The Cloud Services IT Manager plays a pivotal role in managing, deploying, and maintaining our critical AWS Cloud Services environments at enterprise scale. Your responsibilities will include ensuring optimal performance, resilience, security, and user experience across customer platforms and services. This position involves collaborating with internal technology teams, business partners, and vendors.
Required Skills:
To hit the ground running you will need;
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant hands-on experience with demonstrated experience managing cloud platforms (including Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service on either Azure or AWS) in an enterprise context.
- Experience leading high performing operational teams to deliver and improve services for users.
- Develop and implement the cyber security strategy, policies, frameworks, roadmaps, and architecture that drive a culture of collaboration, awareness, and risk prevention. This will include driving and managing the cyber and information security audit and assurance process including making recommendations for reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with a cross-section of an organisation.
Highly Desirable:
- Relevant Azure and/or AWS certifications.
- Familiarity with modern delivery approaches (Agile, Lean, DevOps) and tools (e.g. Jira, Bitbucket, Github).
Principle Accountabilities:
- Guide activities in all phases of the implementation and support process.
- Ensure proper development of requirements, technical specifications, and documentation.
- Adhere to change/release management processes and guidelines.
- Track progress and escalate issues as needed.
- Assume responsibility for resolving risks or challenges impacting delivery timelines.
- Ensure that backups continue to be created, monitored, regularly tested, and managed appropriately.
- Ensure that incidents, outages, and other issues are resolved in a timely and managed fashion collaborating with teams and stakeholders,
- Ensure the Change Management process is followed, and the requirements of the Project Lifecycle are fulfilled.
- Lead the design, development and support of enterprise cloud platforms and services to enable other teams to effectively leverage cloud.
- Work collaboratively between internal and external stakeholders to align cloud platforms and services with business needs, maintain service standards, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure design and architecture of cloud solutions support the needs of the organisation, enable self-service and are cost-effective, maintainable and secure.
- Collaborate with the CTO on Strategy and Architecture to ensure cloud platforms are delivered in line with enterprise architecture principles.
- Establish and oversee governance practices which ensure cloud usage complies with better practice security and management goals.
- Manage a team of cloud specialists, and build team capability through recruiting, mentoring, training and coaching others, providing performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
- Manage and engage with risks and issues related to cloud operations.
- Lead a positive culture of value delivery, inclusivity, continuous improvement, sustainability, security, and user engagement.
