BEECHMONT ESTATE (formerly Hazelwood Estate) is a privately-owned estate just outside the small township of Beechmont, near Binna Burra in the Scenic Rim region of south-east Queensland. Just 90 minutes from Brisbane and 45 minutes from the Gold Coast, the 75-acre property neighbours the World Heritage listed Lamington National Park.
Guests can escape to Beechmont Estate to taste the region's finest and freshest ingredients in the restaurant, sip a drink on the sunset terrace, enjoy a scenic bush walking trail, or retreat in five-star luxury.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is your chance to join the team at Beechmont Estate as part of Morris Escapes. We are looking for a highly skilled, professional Chef de Partie - a person who is capable of driving excellent product, service and team culture. At Beechmont Estate, and across all Morris Escapes destinations, we are dedicated to ensuring the highest level of service and the smooth operation of all kitchen operations.
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting kitchen & front-of-house staff in delivering great food on a consistent basis;
- On-shift management of your section;
- Maintaining service standards & contributing to team culture & guest experience;
- Creative menu development with senior chefs;
- Helping with catering for special events & private dining experiences;
- Making recipes from scratch, using only locally-sourced ingredients;
- Financial & cost management within scope of responsibilities;
- Helping to train, motivate & develop junior kitchen workers;
- Ordering & stock control;
- Quality control of food preparation & presentation;
- Preparing & cooking all food items;
- Helping to maintain kitchen procedures;
- Ensuring compliance to all regulations, food safety standards & WHS requirements; and
- General kitchen operational duties as required.
Full-Time Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this position, you will need to have/be:
- a hands-on Chef de Partie ready to take on a new role;
- experience in high-end restaurants & private resort dining;
- appropriate trade qualifications/training;
- at least 3+ years experience at minimum Chef de Partie level;
- excellent technical knowledge;
- a supporting & strong team member;
- willingness to learn & grow within your trade;
- leadership & management skills;
- exceptional time management & organisational skills;
- the ability to work well under pressure;
- the ability to cater for dietaries without compromising on enjoyment;
- a reliable & flexible attitude; and
- a natual communicator who finds it easy to speak with guests & colleagues.
