Located in Kingscliff, just over the QLD/NSW border, Taverna is a chic, boutique, Greek-inspired beachfront restaurant.
We are looking for a talented Chef de Partieand Commis Chefs who share our love of creating incredible food and exceptional dining experiences. We are a small team of hospitality professionals who value hard work, creativity, dedication and commitment!
About you:
We are looking for passionate hospitality professionals looking to advance their career working in a 4 times Chef Hatted restaurant under the guidance of our very successful Head Chef. You are wanting to be part of a dedicated team where everyone is keen to develop their skills and learn from each other to improve and grow. You are innovative, in touch with current trends and have interest in mixing these ideas with traditional Greek cuisine. You are most definitely a hard worker who works well under pressure in a fast paced environment and are not afraid of a challenge. And most importantly you are looking for not only a job, but a career, where you will have fun while you grow your skills!
As our next Chef de Partie reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will:
- Manage your own section (grill/pan/fry) ensuring a smooth delivery as well as assisting with other sections as required
- You will control the pass when required ensuring smooth and consistent delivery of product
- Ensure all dishes are immaculately presented and of the highest quality in accordance with Taverna's standards
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment and ensure food safety standards are not only met but exceeded
- Lead, train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Assist in seasonal menu development, working with fresh local ingredients to bring innovative new dishes to the table
- Certificate III or IV Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum of one years experience in a similar position
As a Commis Chef you will:
- Have experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience in grill, pan and fry cooking
- Ability to take instruction as well as think and work independently
- Uncompromising attitude towards high food quality, presentation and food safety standards
We are offering a full-time, salaried Chef De Partie position and Casual Commis Chef positions. Remuneration will be negotiable on skills and experience (in accordance with the Restaurant Industry Award), with an immediate start for the right candidates.
