About the role
A fantastic career opportunity is available at The Haus Restaurant. We are seeking a Full TimeChef de Partieto join our energetic and passionate team here in the heart of Hahndorf in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, located only 25 minutes from the CBD.
As senior Chefs in the culinary brigade, you will be working very closely with the Sous Chef, managing the operational requirements of the kitchen and the brigade. In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to create, inspire and deliver an outstanding culinary experience for our guests and a rewarding employment experience for our team. Specifically, you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to menu design, using your creativity, flair and personal experience
- Ensure the consistent production of high quality food throughout the hotel
- Manage customer relations, when necessary in the absence of the Sous Chef
- Support brand standards through the training and assessment of the team
- Contribute to food and beverage revenue through effective food cost control measures
- Manage the kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a well-organized, motivated team who are able to deliver a quality product for our guests
- Use initiative & work effectively in a busy team environment
- Maintain food costings and inventory.
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
- Adhere to WH&S standards and procedures
- Comply with Haus internal policies & procedures
To successfully fill one of these exciting leadership roles, the ideal candidate will poses the following
Certificate III or IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent
At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie in a similar high-volume establishment
- A passion for the industry and for producing high quality food
- Experience in high volume functions
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong people management skills
- A current valid and relevant trade qualification (proof may be required)
- A creative approach to the production of food
- Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- HACCP accreditation ideally holding a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

These positions involve day/night shifts as well as public holiday and weekend shifts.
We strive to provide consecutive days off and provide capped working hours each week.
