Position: Chef (1 position)

White Jasmine Thai Cuisine, located in Cranbourne, is looking for a skilled and passionate individual to join our esteemed culinary team. We are currently seeking a qualified Full-Time Chef (1 position) who can contribute to our dynamic and busy fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should be a dedicated, creative, and an organized professional with at least 3 years of full-time experience in a busy commercial kitchen.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in culinary arts
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible availability to meet business demands
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements
- First Aid Training and certificate are advantageous
- Adherence to workplace hygiene standards
- Plan and develop menus
- Prepare menus accommodating special dietary needs
- Proficiency in preparing appetizers, mains, and desserts from Thai cuisines is highly advantageous
- Develop preparation lists for the kitchen crew
- Manage food cost and inventory effectively
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills of colleagues
- Receive, store, maintain, and rotate stock
- Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety procedures
- Previous experience with food inspections for licensed premises is preferred
- Uphold food safety procedures
- Experience in catering will be highly advantageous
Position Details:
- Type: Full-time employment
- Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum, plus superannuation (Dependent on knowledge and experience)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Requirements and attainments:
- Experience and qualifications in commercial cookery (Cert IV or higher).
- Cert IV or higher qualification with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Flexible availability.
- Good communication skills.
- Victorian drivers’ licence.
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team.
- Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is advantageous for this position.
