About the Role
We are now looking for chefs to join our journey at Carriageworks each Saturday morning. Our offer will involve cooking with Dough & Filling and using a baking process well known in the Middle East and some parts of the western suburbs of Sydney. The baking process uses a "Saj Oven" to bake the bread evenly on an iron surface. We will be finishing off the cooking process by placing the cooked dough and filling into the Gozney pizza oven for the last minute sear.
Responsibilities include:
● Responsible for maintaining high food quality. Must taste and inspect dishes for seasoning, presentation and consistency and make adjustments as necessary
● It is important to work well under pressure and must be able to think on the spot and resolve problems quickly to prevent disruptions
● Supervise cooks and oversee the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food through delegation and action
● Supervising, motivating and working closely with other Chefs of all levels.
● Ensuring Health and Safety controls are implemented
About You
- Passion for food and pastry;
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience;
- Great attention to detail;
- Work well within a team;
- Must have full-time Australian working rights.
