The Filipino Street Food Pty Ltd. is seeking a qualified Chef with Barista experience to oversee the culinary operations of our branches: Coffee Rounds Cafe, KANTO (Redcliffe), KARINDERIA (Hamilton) and KALYE (Deception Bay). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the authenticity and quality of our Filipino cuisine while delivering exceptional service to our customers. We aim to benchmark Filipino food to industry standards in Australia, ensuring that our dishes represent the best of Filipino culinary tradition while meeting the expectations of discerning Australian diners. The ideal candidate will embody the warmth and generosity of Filipino hospitality, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and fostering a culture of customer satisfaction. Additionally, the selected chef will oversee a festival month where The Filipino Street Food stall participates in a multicultural event, showcasing our delicious offerings to a wider audience
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook Filipino dishes according to traditional recipes and standards.
Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and cleanliness as per Australian Food Safety Standards.
Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high food quality and consistency.
Manage inventory and procurement of ingredients to ensure freshness and availability.
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials including estimates on food and labour costs.
Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
Serve as a barista when needed, preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages with knowledge of latte art.
Qualifications:
Two years minimum experience as a qualified chef.
Proven experience as a chef in a Filipino cuisine setting.
Fluent in English with a good understanding of Tagalog.
Proficient in barista skills, including espresso extraction and latte art.
Strong knowledge of Filipino cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership skills; and a team player
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethics.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
