Nanyima Care is a stand-alone Not-for-Profit Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF), under the governance of dedicated volunteers from within our local community, who contribute to the planning, management, and growth of the facility. At the heart of our offering is a deep commitment to a resident first approach. The Role

The overall purpose of the Chef/Catering Manager is to ensure a nutritious, appetising, and varied menu for residents that enhances their quality of life, is nutritionally sound, is aligned to residents’ individual medical and other needs and preferences, is aligned to the Aged Care Quality Standards, is aligned to applicable regulatory requirements and is delivered within budget.

What you will do:

• Oversee the creation and execution of a diverse and appealing menu that aligns with Apollo Care's mission and meets residents' individual medical, nutritional, and preference needs.
• Collaborate with the residential service manager to ensure seamless coordination between catering services and overall care plans.
• Implement innovative strategies for cost-effective meal preparation and delivery without compromising quality.
• Conduct regular training sessions to keep catering services staff updated on industry best practices and evidence-based approaches.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team culture within the catering department, ensuring a supportive work environment.

Who are you and what will you bring? 

• At least 2 years experience as a chef in a residential aged care setting (Desirable)
• At least 2 years experience as a chef in an equivalent or related role (Mandatory)
• Completed Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery 
• Completed Food Safety Supervisor Course 
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & interpersonal)
• Hold and maintain NDIS Worker Checks as per NDIS Act 2013

• Salary Range: competitive base rate (Depending on experience) + 11% Superannuation+ NFP salary packaging + allowances
