The duties and responsibilities for the positions include, but are not limited to the following;
- Demonstrate sophisticated cooking skills and techniques;
- Prepare, cook, serve and present high-quality dishes;
- Plan, develop and create menus;
- Co-ordinate daily tasks with kitchen staff;
- Knowledge of standard procedures and policies relating to food preparation, receiving, preserving, freezing and storing all food products;
- Knowledge and enforcement of hygiene and safety requirements when handling food products;
- Monitor stock levels and complete orders for food supplies;
- Correctly operate and maintain kitchen equipment;
- Supervise and train junior Chefs and other kitchen staff;
- Understanding of rostering and labour costs
Skills and experience required for the position:
- Relevant Diploma with at least two years full-time work experience OR at least three years of full-time relevant work experience
- A competent understanding of creating and cooking classic European menus OR central and South American menus
Salary range: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 inclusive of super.
