THIS ROLE/LOCATION
An exciting opportunity to come on board to showcase your culinary skills. We are looking for casual Chefs who are keen to learn and grow in their career and be part of our passionate back of house team.
- Casual positions available with the opportunity to progress to permanent work
- Work at our exciting Little Creatures Venue in T1
- Training and working across multiple sites
- 7-day operation rotating roster
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible with assisting Head Chef & Sous Chef with preparation of food prior to service
- Ensure individual section and responsibilities are ready to meet daily, function and special requirements.
- Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all food items and making of orders.
- Be actively involved in daily service cooking and serving menu items in line with company standards.
- Monitor and train on product knowledge with new menu items to maintain high standards
- Inform Head/Sous Chef of any short falls in stock or ordering needed for the next day.
- Ensure adequate stock is on hand and daily prep is completed so that the full menu offering is available, but avoiding waste
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Understand and practice Food Safety at all times, as defined by the company Food Control Plan
- Understand the maintenance of equipment, accurate recordkeeping and stock labelling, stock rotation, and safe storage
- Able to train and supervise cooks, chefs & kitchen attendants of a lower grade
- Completion of appropriate culinary certification – Experience as Commis Chef or above
- Must have own reliable transport
