Swimming WA Inc. was founded in 1902 and is the peak body for swimming in the State of Western Australia. The Association is not-for-profit, representing 77 Clubs, with over 10,500 Members across the State. SWA is a proud member of Swimming Australia Limited.

Swimming WA is looking for a Chief Executive Officer who will be accountable for providing effective management and leadership for swimming within Western Australia with direct responsibility for ensuring delivery of the strategic plan.
Reporting to the Board of Directors via the Chair, the CEO will be responsible for delivering on the strategic plan, leadership and management of Swimming WA. The CEO will inspire, lead and empower a diverse community including, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, stakeholders and partners.
The successful candidate will be responsible for successfully managing relationships with Government and with national sporting bodies, such as Swimming Australia.
The successful candidate will have the following key competencies:
- Demonstrated experience in a strategic leadership role within sport, showcasing excellent leadership, organisational and time management skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business discipline or significant industry experience in sport administration.
- Proven interpersonal, strategic and leadership skills across a large-scale member or customer driven organisation.
- Well-developed oral and written communications skills and the ability to communicate to all stakeholders at a variety of levels.
- A proven and well-established ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong financial literacy.
- Demonstrated experience in adhering and implementing governance structures, including risk management.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including commercial and event partners, government bodies, media outlets and community groups.
- Experience in preparing and delivering key presentations and reports to a Board and other stakeholders.
