The Fremantle Port Authority (FPA) plays a central and critical role in driving the state economy, with a clear purpose to facilitate trade for a more prosperous Western Australia.
With a diverse trade base, FPA currently operates through its trade and tourism activities at Victoria Quay; its trade and commercial activities, including a major container terminal at North Quay; significant import and export facilities in Kwinana that are responsible for delivering key products and commodities that drive the state’s economy; as well as oversight of major privately operated terminals for agriculture and mineral export. Additionally, a new state of the art container terminal is planned at Kwinana, alongside significant investment to increase the capacity of the existing import and export facilities with alignment to the future Westport strategy. At Victoria Quay, in addition to port operations there is a focus on activation to create a vibrant waterfront tourism destination.
Reporting to the Board, you will lead FPA to operate the port and infrastructure assets safely, sustainably, and efficiently, whilst also planning and delivering significant capital investment programs. Given FPA’s impact and connectivity to future development, this role will require significant stakeholder engagement across government, customers, and the local community. The role requires an experienced leader with an analytical and inquisitive mind to consider practicalities and new pragmatic methods of delivering logistic and port operations alongside tourism opportunities and industrial development.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial leader who is passionate about making a significant and meaningful contribution to Western Australia’s economic future. Applications are encouraged from a range of sectors including ports, infrastructure, logistics, resources, or similar asset intensive environments. To be successful, your experience as a recognised thought leader, with a focus on operational excellence and safety, strategic planning and major capital program delivery combined with an ability to influence and align complex stakeholders will be highly regarded.
Relevant degree qualifications are essential and post graduate qualifications desirable.
