Due to the departure of the current CEO after 13 years of outstanding service, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Victoria now seeks to appoint an experienced and mature leader to strategically build and grow the service with a vision of the future. Over the last 13 years the organisation has grown from a small staff of four to the current over 600 people, including employees and volunteers.
Reporting to the Board of Directors the CEO will provide effective and proactive leadership to RFDS Victoria to ensure it delivers on strategic priorities and objectives aimed at breaking down barriers to accessing healthcare, wellbeing support and social connection. The incoming CEO will focus on internal capability development, supporting both staff and donors on the growth journey. Future challenges will include leading a regenerated Executive Leadership team, working with the Board on the development of the new strategic direction and ensuring the RFDS brand retains a strong connection to the many services it provides.
The successful candidate will be a respected and experienced CEO or senior executive with proven experience in managing change and facilitating effective organisational transformation. Commercially astute, the incoming CEO will ensure financial sustainability and longevity of the service through the development of improved policies and maintenance of donor relationships. The appointee will demonstrate a clear ability to provide effective responses to new and emerging needs not fulfilled by existing government or private sector structures, a track record in advocacy and a proven ability to manage and align the expectations of diverse stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong alignment to the values and purpose of RFDS and will strive to maintain a focus on service, people and innovation.

The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) Victoria is a not–for–profit charity that supports the health care needs of rural and remote communities across Victoria and provides better health and wellbeing services to address physical health, mental health, and social connection.
