To help drive that growth, the Chief Executive has mandated a national search to appoint an outstanding Chief Financial Officer.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity for an appropriately credentialed finance leader to play an active role in the growth and development of a rapidly expanding engineering consulting firm.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the setup and control of the accounting and financial strategy and functions to drive a profitable, efficient and sustainable business for PTG Group, whilst providing high-level financial information and analysis for decision-making. The CFO will be a member of the Senior Leadership team and will help to drive and implement strategic initiatives across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic
- Strategic leadership of the finance team to achieve consistency and best practice across the business;
- Provide expert and strategic direction and advice to the senior leadership team on all aspects of financial management, reporting and decisions; and
- Represent the Group in strategic discussions with significant external stakeholders (e.g. banks, auditors and major clients).
Operational
- Build and direct accounting and finance strategies, policies, procedures, practices and plans, taking into account the operating environment;
- Protect the Group's profits and assets by reviewing and assessing the financial soundness of proposed acquisitions, financial expenditure, investments, mergers, sale of assets, capital projects and other sources / expenditure of capital;
- Direct and control the Group's policy on investments, credit, taxation and cash flow;
- Report to the Executive team and Advisory Board on the Group's financial position and activities;
- Financial analysis and valuation of acquisition opportunities, assisting with financial and contractual negotiations, undertaking financial due diligence and coordinating the finance aspects of integrating newly acquired businesses; and
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards across all relevant jurisdictions.
People leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to all staff and ensure the objectives, actions and focus of the business is clearly communicated; and
- Drive a high-performance culture through your own visible leadership and by ensuring all elements of PTG's My Career Matters (MCM) process is undertaken.
Pre requisite experience:
- CA or CPA accredited;
- Finance, Accounting, Commerce or relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 in senior level roles; and
- Strong acquisition and integration experience.
