In preparation for the next generation of leadership, client is seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer who will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless transition and setting the foundation for continued prosperity.
Role Summary: This role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a well-established company by ensuring the continuity of leadership and safeguarding the company’s legacy. As CFO, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director with a potential pathway to eventually becoming the Group Finance Director, you will integrate closely with the CEO and senior leadership to sculpt the financial and operational trajectories of our diverse entities. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be hands on and willing to lead from the front.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Oversee comprehensive financial functions including accounting, finance, and asset management. Strategically manage A/P, A/R, and inventory controls while developing sophisticated pricing and costing models.
- Advanced Contract Negotiations: Spearhead negotiations of high-stakes contracts with key service providers and international clients, enhancing profitability and operational efficiency.
- Pioneering Purchasing Strategies Lead the development and implementation of innovative purchasing strategies that support international operations and sales commitments.
- Optimize Global Supply Chain: to enhance production and distribution efficiency, ensuring that sourcing and procurement align with business forecasts and market demands.
- Comprehensive IT and Systems Oversight: Assume full ownership of the SAP system and the overarching IT infrastructure. Lead strategic upgrades and integrations to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across global business units.
- Strategic Asset Management: Implement forward-thinking financial practices and controls that optimize asset management and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Hands-On Leadership and Mentorship: Embody a hands-on leadership style, demonstrating a deep understanding of each team member’s role. Guide and develop senior talent by sharing expertise and fostering a culture of skill mastery and professional growth.
- National Travel: due to the geographic spread of operation throughout Australia, the CFO will be expected to travel nationally 30% of their time.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the food manufacturing sector or similar industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex financial operations and leading large-scale projects.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record in strategic decision-making and problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of inspiring confidence and forging robust alliances.
- Demonstrable experience with SAP systems, showcasing a deep understanding of its functionalities and the ability to leverage this platform to drive financial excellence and business integration.
