The role of a Global CFO (FX/Payments/Finance) is a senior executive position responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategies related to foreign exchange (FX) within a multinational organization. This position plays a crucial role in managing currency risk, optimizing FX/payments & finance operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy:
Management of financial reporting
- Preparation and presentation of board reports
- Partnering with the CEO on business strategy and analysis
- All taxation matters including tax risk management and transfer pricing
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Preparation of long term strategic plans
- Establishing framework of key performance indicators for the business
- Management of regulatory reporting and financial requirement calculation set by ASIC
- Taking ownership of annual audit
- Developing FX payment rails and building relationship with existing & new banking partners
- Managing FX payment functions
2. Payment Operations: Ensure efficient and secure payment processes across the organization. This involves overseeing payment systems, managing banking relationships, and implementing controls to optimize cash flow, reduce payment risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
3. Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the financial planning and analysis process for FX and payment-related activities. This includes forecasting currency exposures, assessing the impact of exchange rate movements on financial performance, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
4. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to FX, payments, and financial operations. Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures, monitor compliance, and address any potential risks or issues.
6. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, finance teams, banks, payment service providers, and regulatory authorities. Build strong relationships, provide financial insights, and communicate FX, payment, and financial strategies and performance to key stakeholders.
7. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance, FX, and payment teams. Set strategic goals, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and develop talent within the team.
