SensesWA is a leading not-for-profit organisation with over a century of commitment to providing exceptional disability services in Western Australia. Our mission is to build capacity by delivering comprehensive disability services, specialising in Community Access, Homes & Living, sensory services, positive behaviour support and children's therapies. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Chief Operations Officer to lead our Operations Division.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Executive Team and Board to contribute to the strategic planning for the organisation, ensuring alignment with the overall mission and objectives.
Business Development: Develop a robust business plan for the Operations division, focusing on Community Access (CAS), Therapy services, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Homes and Living (H&L), aligning with the organisational Strategic Plan, Purpose, Vision and our customer commitments.
Financial Management: Evaluate and manage the sustainable performance of all operations activities, identifying opportunities for additional funding sources, including grants and tenders, to enhance the financial viability of the organisation.
Leadership and Development: Provide leadership to senior management teams in CAS, Therapy services, PBS and H&L, ensuring staff supervision, development and training align with organisational goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contracted services, and suppliers.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure governance, contractual, legal, and legislative requirements are met across all operational activities within the organisation.
Communication: Maintain accurate and timely communication with CAS, Therapy services, PBS and H&L team members, volunteers, clients, and their families, representing SensesWA to external bodies as required.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification(s).
  • Proven success in setting strategy and leading operational teams in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated ability in gap analyses, new business initiatives and strong conceptual, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with competing demands.
  • High-level skills in executive management, including people leadership and change management.
  • Proven experience in managing and growing client engagement within the Human Services sector.
  • Excellent time management skills with a successful track record of organising and prioritising workloads in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in the disability sector.
  • Working knowledge of the NDIS National Quality and Safeguarding Framework, the disability industry and compliance requirements.
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health.
Essential Compliance Criteria:
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Current and Valid WA Working with Children Check.
  • Current Western Australian motor vehicle driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel or work across any SensesWA locations, including potential intra and interstate travel.
