Role mission
As our CTO, your mission is to elevate SafetyCulture’s technology landscape, delivering cutting-edge solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations and propel us ahead of our competitors. You will cultivate a visionary approach to problem-solving, inspire a high-performance culture within our engineering teams, and foster an environment of continuous innovation. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the executive team, your leadership will launch us into an ambitious phase of growth. You will deeply engage with technologies that have a profound impact on millions, shaping the future of our industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Visionary Leadership: Inspire and lead a team of top-tier engineers towards achieving engineering excellence. Your strategic vision will guide large-scale projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they deliver both commercial success and transformative customer experiences.
- Cultural Architect: Build and nurture a culture of collaboration, innovation, and openness across all technical and product teams at all levels, creating a cohesive unit focused on delivering excellence and value to our customers.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with a focus on AI-driven product development and integration of emerging technologies ensuring high-level strategic alignment.
- Operational Excellence: Champion the continuous improvement of our engineering practices to uphold our reputation for technological advancements and operational excellence. You’ll also integrate cutting-edge technologies and acquisitions to keep us at the forefront of the industry.
- Customer Connection: Engage directly with our customer-facing teams and users to extract valuable insights and align our product development with real-world needs and expectations, ensuring our technology solves critical problems effectively.
- Commercial Strategy: Leverage your technical expertise to direct projects that maximise ROI and contribute significantly to our business growth. Your decisions will directly impact our bottom line and strategic positioning.
- Growth and Scalability: Lead initiatives that not only optimise current processes but also scale our technological capabilities to meet current milestones and future demands.
What do I need?
- Proven experience as a CTO within a technology-driven environment, ideally in a customer-centric, high-growth/global business.
- A record of developing high-performing teams and championing innovation.
- Experience with big data management, data migration, and leveraging data for business growth (ideal but not required).
- Creative and innovative with demonstrated success using new and emerging technologies (AI, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, able to advocate for the engineering team and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels.
- Growth mindset and highly adaptable to change and ambiguity.
- Innovative thinker not bound by traditional ways, able to leverage experience to drive progress.
- Strong self-awareness, with exceptional interpersonal skills to foster alignment and synergy between product, design and engineering teams in a PLG environment.
- Pragmatic problem solver with the ability to challenge, influence and pivot
