Are you looking to join the Department of Communities in a key frontline position located in the Kimberley Region? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Our Kimberley region offers the perfect opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, so if you enjoy venturing through the amazing untouched scenery and have passion for learning more about traditional Aboriginal culture, this could be the job for you!

Some of the positions listed in this Talent Register may be eligible for the Regional Attraction and Retention Incentive (RARI) Scheme. If you are appointed from this Talent Register during the effective RARI timeframe, you may be eligible for payments of up to $13,000 in addition to the below benefits. Click here to find out more.

What is the Talent Register
The Child Protection Frontline Talent Register is an online portal that allows you to register your interest for full time and part time opportunities that are:

  • Fixed term/secondment up to twelve (12) months, or
  • Transfer at level for existing permanent public sector employees
  • Permanent

The register is actively monitored by managers to match applicants to available opportunities. You only need to register your interest once, and your application will remain on our jobs register for current and future opportunities.

The benefit of applying through one of our Talent Registers is that you can be appointed directly via a streamlined process as opportunities become available.

About the roles If you have a sound understanding of the issues and trends around alternative care of children and the ability to build strong working relationships within the team, the community and with culturally diverse families, we want to hear from you! Some of the roles you may be considered for as part of the Talent Register include:

Child Protection Workers work with children, young people and families who are vulnerable or in crisis to ensure children are safe and protected from harm.

Qualification Requirements – Child Protection Worker Under our Child Protection Workforce Model, priority will be given to qualified applicants in the first instance to maintain a qualified workforce. Should a qualified applicant not be identified then this selection process will be used to fill the vacancy.

If you have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology or relevant human services area, please apply for the Child Protection Worker position. Refer to our website for information about the qualification requirements.

If you do not hold an approved qualification for the Child Protection Worker, please apply for one of the below positions:

The Field Worker role is a modified Child Protection Worker position so those without relevant qualifications can be appointed.

Case Support Officers provide direct support to Child Protection Workers by collecting, recording and analysing client information, and engaging with children, families, government and non-government support agencies.

Family Support Officers provide supervision and support to families, children and young people about accessing Department and community resources.

Administrative Assistants contribute to the effective management of the District Offices by providing a high level of customer service in relation to administrative matters.

Customer Liaison Officers are the first point of contact for members of the community accessing the Child Protection and Family Support services of the Department of Communities.

Parent Visitors are responsible for undertaking home and community visits to provide culturally appropriate support and assistance to Parents and Carers.

Best Beginnings Plus Workers provide a personal culturally appropriate parenting skill service to assist in the growth and development of families to facilitate child safety and wellbeing.

What we offer you

We offer a safe and healthy working environment, a range of benefits, including attractive salaries, flexible working arrangements, and learning and development opportunities in exchange for your skills, passion and commitment.
