This is an open pool recruitment process for full time, part time, fixed term or permanent opportunities. If you are deemed suitable, you will be placed in a pool from which appointments can be made when vacancies arise. As this is an open pool you can apply at any time and interviews will be conducted on a regular basis.

The first round of assessments will commence Wednesday, 22 May 2024 at 4pm. If you applied for the pool prior to this cut off time, your application will be assessed by the panel and you will be advised of the outcome in due course, where you can reapply should you be unsuccessful.

About the Roles

Child Protection Work is challenging, rewarding, and fulfilling, working alongside families, other agencies and Community organisations, you’ll foster meaningful and productive relationships to help families build safety and support for their family members.

Child Protection Workers and Field Workers have responsibilities covering all aspects of Child Protection work. They respond to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children, taking legal action where necessary, and maintain positive links and strong working relationships with other government and non-government agencies.

There are two online sessions scheduled for:

  • Wednesday 01/05/2025 at 5:30pm-6:00pm (AWST) Midwest, Kimberley, and Pilbara
  • Wednesday, 08/05/2024 at 5.30pm - 6.00pm (AWST) Southwest, Great Southern & Wheatbelt and Goldfields

Which position do I apply for?

Under our Child Protection Workforce Model, priority will be given to qualified applicants in the first instance to maintain a qualified workforce. Should a qualified applicant not be identified then this selection process will be used to fill the vacancy.

If you have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or relevant human services area, please apply for the Child Protection Worker position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency. Refer to our website for information about the qualification requirements.

If you do not hold an approved qualification, please apply for the Field Worker position.
