We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.Additional information:An eligibility list may be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.What you'll be doingThis position is within a multidisciplinary Child Protection Unit and will provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise to the Social Workers to ensure that high quality assessments and therapy is provided to clients of the Unit. It will ensure models of service delivery are responsive to client needs, utilise evidence based practice and promote the development of effective and collaborative working relationships with other departments and agencies. Management responsibilities include planning, monitoring and review of services and policy, coordination of student placements and supervision of Social Workers. The position also involves education and training and participation in research.Eligibility for membership of the AASWDemonstrated high level understanding of current Child Protection and child sexual assault service policy and practice and the needs of children involved in the statutory Child Protection system, including understanding of inter-agency roles and responsibilities in working with children and young people who have experienced significant risk of harm.Advanced specialist knowledge and clinical skills in assessment, counselling, therapy and case management with children, young people and their carers where risk of harm has occurred.Demonstrated skills and experience providing clinical supervision and clinical leadership in a social work context.Demonstrated experience in developing projects, monitoring progress and performance and to enhance service quality improvement.Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and reasoning skills necessary to ensure high clinical practice standards and build strong team and interagency practiceExperience in Research.Sound knowledge of data collection, statistical analysis, report writing and computer skills.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity - we acknowledge the vibrancy that a diverse workforce brings to enhance both our workplace culture and our service delivery to children, young people and their families and carers.
