About the Position
Reporting to the Executive Director – Quality, Practice and Youth, this position works across the organisation. The Child Safety Coordinator will support the growth and continuous improvement of Sparkways’ child safe culture, supporting the organisation and its programs and services to meet and exceed the requirements of the Victorian Child Safe Standards, and the child safe elements of the National Quality Framework and Human Services Standards. This includes providing support and guidance to leaders and staff on matters of Child Safety; conducting Child Safety investigations; implementing capacity building initiatives; and the continual improvement of the organisation’s Child Safety systems, policies and processes.
This role provides hybrid working options with service-based work as needed, as well as working from home or out of one of our Support Office Hub’s located in Carrum Downs and Flemington. About you
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in the early childhood, education or human service sectors that includes:
- Developing and implementing Child Safety systems
- Child Safety Investigations and associated reporting
- Capacity/capability building of leaders, teams and staff in child safe knowledge and professional practice
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; be able to engage and achieve results with a diverse range of teams; have highly developed organisational skills including the ability to plan and implement projects; and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
