Your New Career
The People and Culture Advisor – Gender Equity, Psychosocial and Child Safety plays an important role in driving a coordinated approach to Council’s commitment to gender equality, psychological wellbeing, and Child Safety across the organisation.
Reporting to the Manager People and Culture the ideal candidate for this role will be confident in providing advice and liaising with key specialist areas to ensure actions within Gender Equity and Diversity Action Plan, Psychosocial Safety approach and Child safety policy are carried out.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for:
- Delivering and driving actions identified in the Surf Coast Shire Council’s Gender Equality and Diversity Action Plans
- Developing and delivering actions to further embed the Victorian Child Safe Standards framework within Council.
- Collaborating across the organisation to design, implement and review an annual wellbeing plan that relates to psychosocial safety & wellness.
What we’re seeking
Mandatory Requirements:
- Relevant degree, diploma or demonstrated work experience in the broad fields of community services including social work, social sciences, community development, human resource management, psychology, education, public health, public policy or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating health and wellbeing projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk and protective factors related to Child Safe and Reportable Conduct, Psychosocial andGender Equity legislation.
- Ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise a demanding workload, along with demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative to complete objectives within given timelines.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
- A current WWCC.
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in Local Government in either Human Resources, Work Health Safety, Change Management or Organisation Development.
- Experience in the design and implementation of psychosocial safety or wellbeing programs at work, and any relevant qualifications in Safety, Occupational Health or other related field.
- Experience in implementing complex cultural initiatives and with creative and innovative strategic wellbeing responses.
