About the role:
A very exciting and rewarding opportunity to join Box Hill Institute at our Lilydale Lakeside Children’s Centre (LLCC) as one of our Early Childhood Assistant Educators! If you are passionate about ELC, you will love working with our team here at LLCC!
As an Assistant Educator, you will be working alongside Senior Educators to provide innovative education and care programs in a long day setting with children aged 0-6 years. You will have the opportunity to support the implementation of diverse educational programs; creating engaging and stimulating learning environments that complement the children’s interests, relationships and opportunities.
Your role will be to ensure promotion of health and safety for all staff and children within a positive environment which is nurturing, safe and stimulating. You will be engaging with families and children within the LLCC including administering relevant records to demonstrate children’s participation to share with families.
As part of the team here at LLCC, you will be carrying out regular ELC daily routines including meal time, nappies/toilet training, rest periods, education programs including nature play and use of our fantastic outdoor facilities!
Here at LLCC, we encourage incorporation of your special interests into the children’s education; e.g. physical education, music, cultural celebrations and healthy eating habits. LLCC promotes a positive, engaging work environment and provides the opportunity for team building and professional development on a regular basis.
About You:
Minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services/Early Childhood and Care
First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
Demonstrated experience within early childhood education and knowledge of childhood learning and developmental health
Understanding of compliance and regulatory factors that govern the delivery of early childhood services
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Passionate about ELC and working in a close team environment
Ability to be flexible within the ELC environment and able to adapt to changing circumstances in and out of the classroom
Safe Food Handling Certificate (desirable)
About Us: The Box Hill Institute Lakeside Lilydale campus serves the local community as an active learning centre with a range of vocational and higher education courses.
The campus is also home to our wonderful Lilydale Lakeside Children’s Centre (LLCC) which offers long day care, three and four-year-old kindergarten programs, a Maternal and Child Health centre!
The centre provides a safe, caring environment for children and has a strong focus on nature play. We believe it is important for children and their development to spend time outdoors as part of their learning and education to aid in the development of creativity and critical thinking skills.
