Children’s Programs Facilitator

Permanent / Part Time (40 Hours per fortnight)

Location – Proserpine

$40,643.00 to $43,503.00 per annum

The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.  The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville.  The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Community Services & Facilitation directorate for a Children’s Program Facilitator.  In this role, you will be responsible for researching, planning, reporting and leading the delivery of innovative programs, services and resources for children and their families through our public libraries.

Essential

1. C Class Drivers Licence. 
2. Working with Children Blue Card.
3. Tertiary qualifications or relevant accreditation in Early Childhood Education and/or equivalent level of expertise and experience in a similar discipline.
4. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and substantiate partnerships with external agencies on the delivery of specific programs.
5. Excellent project and event management skills, with the ability to coordinate various components of a complex project within a set timeframe.
6. Highly developed people and relationship skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment communicating effectively at all levels of the organisation and stakeholders.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated through previous experience.
8. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.

Desirable

1. Tertiary Qualifications or relevant accreditation in Library and Information Services.
2. Prior experience working in a public library will be advantageous.
