In the Department of Youth Justice, you will have the opportunity to work together with people, partners and across places to enable young Queenslanders, especially the most vulnerable, to have positive life choices and opportunities.
You will help achieve this vision through developing and delivering initiatives, programs and interventions to:
Increase community safety and reduce rates of youth offending- Improve wellbeing of children and young people in and transitioning from youth justice- Reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the youth justice system.

As Program Facilitator, you will specifically:
Consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in relation to the development and maintenance of services, activities and programs for young people subject to juvenile justice orders, particularly Indigenous youths in detention, that facilitates their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.- Facilitate communication between departmental service delivery and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure programs and services provided to Indigenous young people are culturally appropriate.- Deliver and assist in the provision of programs, activities and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in detention.- Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in delivering programs and services to clients.- Assist young people with pre-release programs and provide links with Indigenous communities and relevant community organisations to facilitate continuity of educational, vocational and Indigenous programs.- Assist with the security and safety of the Centre by observance of operational procedures and standards as they impact on program delivery and the provision of other activities organised for young people.- Provide high quality written reports, briefs and correspondence as required, using manual and computerised systems.
