Chinese Speaking Tour Guide And Cruise Attendant

Lady Musgrave Experience operates daily tours from the Port of Bundaberg to Lady Musgrave Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

We offer full day tours including guided snorkeling tours, glass bottom boat tours, guided island walks and scuba diving. 

A fun and energetic Chinese Speaking Tour Guide/Cruise Attendant is required.

Clear and fluent English to Chinese (fluent in Mandarin) is essential as you will be delivering educational tour information and safety instructions.  

Tour guide experience within a reef or island setting will be highly regarded. 

Dive Instructor or Dive Master qualifications are also highly regarded. Knowledge of swimming and water safety will also be highly regarded but not essential.

• Confidently deliver instructions and ensure guests adhere to safety guidelines

Highly regarded for this position:

• Previous experience as a Tour Guide - particularly in an island or reef setting 
• Previous experience as a translation guide in any capacity
• Knowledge of swimming and water safety
• DiveMaster or Dive Instructors qualification will be highly regarded
• strong swimming skills or lifesaving advantageous
• Ability to speak other languages beneficial
• Marine Biology or Ecology qualifications beneficial but not essential. 
• A good knowledge and understanding of Maritime regulations 

Key Criteria/Qualifications;

• Fluent and Clear Chinese/ English translation skills (fluent mandarin dialect essential)
• Queensland valid RSA Certificate
• Food Safety and Handling Certificate - must have or be willing to obtain
• Advanced Resuscitation (oxygen administration)  - must have or be willing to obtain
• First Aid - must have or be willing to obtain
• CPR  - must have or be willing to obtain
• Qld Blue Card - must have or be willing to obtain
• Passion for the Great Barrier Reef with a focus on providing excellence in customer service and safety.
• Effective and efficient communication skills.
• Experience in the marine tourism industry a preference
• Dive qualifications will be highly regarded.

As this is a tourism based position - workdays will include weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.

The successful applicant will require some flexibility in order to accommodate operational needs and demands of international tour groups.

You will be required to live within the Bundaberg or surrounding area.
