Your new role
The company is looking for a Civil Project Manager / Senior Civil Project Manager who can manage and deliver urban development and infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The role requires strong contract management and superintendency skills, as well as the ability to lead and mentor a team of junior engineers. The role reports to the Section Manager – Civil and will work with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of project delivery, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk, stakeholder management, communication and reporting;
- Review and approve project documentation and specifications prepared by the design team;
- Liaise with clients, contractors, council and regulatory authorities to ensure project objectives and expectations are met;
- Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor project progress and compliance;
- Provide guidance, feedback and support to junior engineers on technical and operational matters;
- Ensure engineering standards and best practices are followed and maintained within the organisation;
- Use the company’s Project Tracker System effectively to track project status and performance;
- Provide regular reports and updates to Section Manager and the client on project outcomes and issues;
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies;
- Attend public meetings to present and discuss project details where required;
- Provide technical assistance to other internal departments regarding engineering projects.
- The role also involves developing a safe work environment by following Work Health & Safety legislation and using safe work practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- The minimum qualifications and experience required for the role are:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering;
- Experience in managing urban development, and general civil infrastructure projects;
- Strong understanding and experience in contract administration and superintendency.
- Experience in land development space within private sector consultancy.
