Job description

As a Claims Officer, you will be responsible for triaging incoming Claims. You'll work alongside our high performing and dedicated team of Loss Adjusters, and on instructions, assist in progressing claims towards settlement.

This role is Brisbane based.

About you

You'll  bring your critical-thinking skills, personal drive and self-motivation to the role.

You have a down to earth and respectful attitude, and a positive outgoing personality.  You demonstrate excellent customer service, as well as time and caseload management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for email and phone enquiries, including new claims and instructions from Insurers
  • Effectively triage, seek guidance, and detemine next steps to progress claims
  • Gather, prepare and check all documentation for accuracy
  • Instruct service providers and suppliers, on direction from Loss Adjusters
  • Assist Loss Adjusters establish appointments for greatest efficiency in managing their caseload and site inspections
  • Meet Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure Contractual, Statutory and General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP) requirements are met
  • Record all required information in our proprietary claims system
  • Maintain timely response to all communications giving clear and accurate advice
  • Assist with invoicing and other administrative functions

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years in General Insurance claims, in a similar role
  • GICOP accredited
  • Certificate IV in Financial Services (General Insurance Tier 1) preferred
  • Intermediate skills in MS Suite (MSWord and MSExcel)
  • Accounting software (e.g. Xero) and preparation of invoices advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
