The role
As the Clear the Air Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of capacity-building activities to support health, community service, sporting, and youth support professionals to address e-cigarette use (vaping) in children and young people in Western Australia.
Reporting to the Make Smoking History Manager, you will also be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Senior Coordinator to make training and professional development available to health, community service, sporting, and youth support professionals on e-cigarette use (vaping) prevention and cessation in young people in WA.
- Adapting or promoting current resources and/or developing new tailored resources to support professionals working with young people to address e-cigarette use (vaping).
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with program funders and partners.
- Representing Cancer Council WA at appropriate meetings, seminars, and other events.
Based in Subiaco, this position is full-time, 12 month contract (part-time negotiable).
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in health, community services, youth services and/or addiction and/or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in health and/or the community and social services sector.
- Experience in developing and delivering training/education.
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including public speaking and report writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage and prioritise deadlines.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
- Positive approach to the workplace
