Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager Fundraising WA and Tasmania, the Community Engagement Coordinator is a vital role for the Marketing and Fundraising team and will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with key external stakeholders and audiences (including but not limited to Schools, corporate organisations, community centres and organisations) by organising and delivering Community Engagement activities and events that directly support Community Engagement, service promotion and fundraising efforts. They will identify partnership opportunities, engage in one-on-one interactions, and collaborate with key internal staff when required to deliver Community Engagement, service promotion and fundraising requirements that align with the strategic objectives, goals and targets for Guide Dogs and VisAbility WA. The Community Engagement Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Senior Fundraising Manager to develop the strategic direction for all community fundraising activities and events, including key annual community fundraising initiatives.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Senior Community Engagement Officer to deliver against the strategic direction outlined for all community fundraising activities and events, including key annual community fundraising initiatives; and the recruitment and attrition of Volunteers to support with all community fundraising and engagement activities, ensuring that adequate and appropriate training and support is provided to Volunteers.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities
- Responsible for line-managing the Senior Community Engagement Officer to ensure delivery against agreed objectives and alignment with best practice industry standards.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to maximise their effectiveness in Community Engagement and fundraising efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and audiences to maximise community fundraising and engagement opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Fundraising Manager to create opportunities for external stakeholders to develop long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships that lead to on-going community and annual giving fundraising commitments.
- Engage with external stakeholders and audiences to promote the work of Guide Dogs and VisAbility WA and contribute towards the identification of potential donors and/or community fundraising and/or service partners.
- Work with key internal stakeholder to be aware of service partner opportunities, promote where appropriate and ensure that any opportunities for service partner agreements are communicated to relevant internal stakeholders to progress.
- Identify and evaluate new and existing Community Engagement and fundraising partnerships with organisations and groups to support the organisations community fundraising objectives and targets.
- Develop and deliver against new and existing Community Engagement and fundraising partnership agreements and initiatives to maximise community fundraising opportunities
- Deliver presentations, workshops, and information sessions to educate external stakeholders and audiences about opportunities to support Guide Dogs and VisAbility WA and the services offered.
- Maintain records of interactions and partnerships and provide regular reports on Community Engagement activities to the Senior Manager Fundraising and Program Manager
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in community fundraising and/or engagement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
- Results-driven with a focus on expanding the organisation's reach and impact
