As a Client Service Officer you will specifically:

• Provide accurate information, advice and service delivery to stakeholders of Queensland's vocational education and training system on the full range of departmental programs and activities.
• Undertake a range of activities to support programs including marketing programs and services, conducting stakeholder and participant interviews, field/workplace visits, surveys, data entry and the interpretation and application of legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide a range of administrative and support services including use of department information technology systems, equipment, and software applications (both standard and specialised) for example word processing, spreadsheets, records management systems, event and nomination management and on-line registration processes.
• Assist with the monitoring of projects, programs, processes and activities, including undertaking basic research and analysis of projects, programs, processes and activities to achieve performance benchmarks and organisational objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing work instructions, processes and procedures for training and employment projects and programs through the utilisation of innovation and problem-solving skills.

• Sound knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of departmental programs and services delivered through regional offices, including, targeted programs to increase participation in training and skilling, application of administrative processes, procedures and legislative provisions.
• An ability to work effectively either independently and/or in a team environment, organise and prioritise work commitments, meet deadlines, share information and support colleagues.
• Sound organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgement within established work practices and procedures.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills, interview skills, written communication skills, as well as liaison and negotiation skills, to enable effective interaction with individuals, groups, internal and external stakeholders.
• While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Every staff member is expected to role model leadership behaviours. This role requires the leadership capabilities of an Individual Contributor as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland booklet.

Role Requirements

• Citizenship/visa: to be appointed to a position, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.

• Drivers' license: it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold ?an unrestricted driver's licence or be prepared to obtain a licence if they do not. ?Officers are required to drive government vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work
• Working with Children Care (Blue Card): it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold a Blue Card or be prepared to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
• Travel away from centre: while the positions are based in Mackay or Rockhampton, travel within the region for site visits and to other regional officers will be required in this role. This includes overnight stays.
