PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for providing basic reference and research for clients supporting people-centered care, research, teaching and training priorities and collating information sources and promotional material for dissemination via digital channels.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide basic reference and research for clients supporting people-centred care, research, teaching, and training priorities and collate information sources and promotional material for dissemination via digital channels.
- In collaboration with Client Services Librarians perform rostered service desk duties and client service activities including resource acquisition, cataloguing electronic and physical resources, document supply, collection maintenance and administrative tasks.
- Develop procedures on these tasks to promote consistent delivery of library services for clients.
- Support clients experiencing eResources and access difficulties by providing Tier 1 technical troubleshooting, virtually and in person, and develop Tier 0 client self-help resources and online modules.
- Plan, prepare, organise, and deliver basic client training programs on library eResources, services, and digital literacy, using traditional and modern training methods.
- Provide support for library projects as the library assesses and implements new technology and systems that optimise the discovery of and access to scholarly eResources and the delivery of digital library services.
ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Relevant Accredited degree in Library and Information Science recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience working professionally in a library or related information unit is highly desirable.
- Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role.
