About the Opportunity

Consumer & Business Services (CBS) is looking for multiple committed, positive and personable Client Service Officers to join our agency. Over the next 12 months we are anticipating multiple full-time and part-time opportunities across our front-line customer service branches, but we also have immediate full-time & part time vacancies we are seeking to fill now. The duration of these opportunities can be up to a year but can also be shorter. Roles available now are currently within our Births, Deaths and Marriages team, but this process could be used to fill opportunities in other areas of the agency should they arise.

In the Client Services Officer role, each customer interaction will be an opportunity for you to apply your problem-solving skills and excellent customer service ability to resolve at times sensitive enquiries. Importantly, this role involves working in a team environment that is fast-paced and requires daily rostered phone shifts.

We want to hear from you if you are:

  • Effective in providing high-quality customer support in a considerate and timely manner via telephone, face to face, emails and other forms of communication.
  • Competent in handling complaints in a considerate manner.
  • Able to use initiative and judgment to ensure customers receive appropriate advice and solutions.
  • Able to make thorough assessments on the merits of applications and make informed recommendations.
  • Able to efficiently handle workloads with competing demands and priorities.
  • Personable and able to work successfully in a team of Client Services Officers.
  • Comfortable undertaking rostered phone shifts of up to 4 hours.

CBS is seeking to establish a pool of experienced, high-performing and motivated individuals through this process. Successful candidates will be placed in a pool for a period of 12 months and may be considered for ongoing or term positions of various durations as they arise within the agency.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
