The opportunity:
The Clinical Advisor – Mental Health is responsible for providing high level specialist, clinical and practice guidance with a focus on Mental Health, ensuring the services provided across the Multicap Group are informed by contemporary evidence-based practice, which is clinically and culturally appropriate, person-centred and will result in improved outcomes for clients and customers.
The role will insert the subject matter expertise into Multicap’s Practice and Clinical governance systems and inform our approach to Practice Excellence by specialising in a select practice domain but contributing to all.
On a day-to-day basis you will
- Provision of specialist advice, guidance and supports which ensure Multicap is indeed meeting with its aims of achieving excellence in practice,
- Lead the delivery of projects/programs relevant to the practice domain of Complex Needs & Behaviour Support
- Ensure that clinical and practice risk is effectively managed, and that decision making is informed by contemporary evidence.
- Insert subject matter expertise into the development and upkeep of clinical/ practice policy and procedure.
- Lead systematic clinical quality audits to identify current and emerging opportunities and risk in practice.
- Provide authoritative guidance on contemporary practices for the group and representation of Multicap’s Practice Excellence agenda internally and externally.
- Supervision and mentorship of junior practice staff (University students, field placements etc)
About you:
The successful applicant will have substantial experience providing sub-acute services to people with mental illness in the community. The role will deliver broad practice improvement initiatives based on contemporary research evidence, which will improve outcomes and the quality of life of our customers and clients.
- Applicants must be registered or credentialed Mental Health Clinician or have substantial experience providing allied health services to people with mental illness.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience (around 5 years +) of current legislation, policy, and practice spanning health, disability, Mental Health or related human services area.
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects which improve clinical/practice outcomes.
- Experience working across relevant practice disciplines and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Advanced communication skills including ability to tailor to varied audience and mode.
- Demonstrated high level project and time management skills.
- Above average computer skills and prior experience with electronic health records and or relevant systems.
- Driver’s licence, blue and yellow card
Desirable
- Lived or living experience of Disability, Mental Ill-health
- Cultural and or other diverse backgrounds.
- Registered Nurse/Psychologist
- Experience in working with and across clinical and non-clinical settings (within relevant field of practice)
