Our clinic located at The Bays private hospital is currently seeking a Clinical Assistant to join their busy team providing assistance to hospital patients attending for medical imaging procedures.
This role will involve moving patients around the hospital and completing clinical duties such as assisting the MRI technologists, ordering stock and sorting supplies. Having previous experience in patient handling is essential.
We currently have a permanent part time opportunity available working Mon-Fri between the core hours of 9:30AM to 4:30PM.
Key accountabilities include:
- Perform and assist with patient movement in the Medical Imaging service area, and the hospital when clinically required
- Assist with general clinic tasks and other patients of the department in any manner as directed by technical/clerical/medical staff
- Ensure Workplace Health and Safety legislation is complied with
- Providing excellent customer service and patient care
- Maintaining strong working relationships with patients, referrers, staff and managers
- Experience in patient handling is essential
- A Certificate III Patient Services Assistant is advantageous
- Ability to handle patient care with compassion and tact, ensuring the patients privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact amiably and effectively with both the public and colleagues
- Ability to function effectively as part of a diagnostic health team
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to meet relevant VIC Health workplace requirements, including Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
