The role

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the delivery of the Gippsland Youth Enhanced Services (YES) program that provides services to young people aged 12 – 25 who experience complex and longstanding mental health issues, and their families.

Reporting to the Manager Youth Mental Health Services, your responsibilities include providing clinical leadership and operational direction to the Youth Enhanced Service (YES) team, ensuring that day-to-day clinical work effectively meets the needs of young people and ensures that staff are well supported in undertaking their clinical duties, as well as engaging in clinical and caseload reviews. The role also has a small clinical direct service delivery component and  also contributes to the development of evidence-based and innovative clinical services and will promote the delivery of mental health services that are of the highest quality.

This position is fixed term until June 2025 with the possibility of permanent employment if funding contracts are renewed. The successful candidate will work 0.90 FTE i.e nine (9) days per fortnight with an opportunity to work either at our Traralgon, Wonthaggi, Bairnsdale or Sale centre.

About you

  • Degree qualified in social work, mental health nursing,occupational therapy or psychology.
  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or current full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Previous experience delivering clinical supervision as well as providing operational support to clinical and non-clinical staff to guide and optimise their work and productivity levels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and experiences of young people from diverse backgrounds including young people who are from rural and remote settings, culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and LGBTQI.
  • Highly capable and with experience in undertaking intake and screening activities to determine client needs, and to assist clients to access appropriate services.

The base salary range is $113k-$117k (pro-rata) per annum.
