About the role
Youth Justice Services is a multi-disciplinary team working to provide an evidence-based and responsive service to young people and their families when they come into contact with the Youth Justice system. It aims to reduce antisocial behaviour, strengthen interagency partnerships and prevent the likelihood of further escalation through the Youth Justice System.
The role of the Clinical Counselling Forensic Psychologist is primarily the provision of psychological services to:
- Young offenders in custody and in the community.
- Families of young offenders.
- Staff working with young offenders and their families.
- Two years post graduate Masters Degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychology.
- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) AND eligibility to commence the registrar program as a Clinical / Counselling / Forensic Psychologist.
- Applicants must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise, however an appointment is not guaranteed.
